Saturday, 7 April 2018
1-3pm @ Featherston St studio.

Over two hours, we'll explore self-massage techniques that can be incorporated into your daily life. Self-massage is a wonderful way to relax, unwind, and let go of dis-ease in the body.

When you are managing pain or discomfort in your body, YOU are the person best positioned in bringing comfort and healing to yourself, not necessarily a therapist or therapist's technique. No one else has the unique experience of what it’s like being in your body. The intention of this workshop is supported by this framework: We hope to empower and educate so you can feel safe and confident integrating self-massage into your life and have a positive adventure in your body while you learn.

This workshop offers variations on therapist-assisted techniques including Myofascial and soft tissue release, deep tissue massage and muscle energy techniques as well as lots of movement. We will be working with all major joints of the body, using massage tools and our own bodies over the session. Expect a few hands on assists and lots of opportunity to play. There will be space at the end of the session to ask questions or seek more information for your specific experience/condition if you wish.
